Why you should take this course.
Practice what you're taught

The course content is linked to guided online tutorials utilising Gen3D’s design software. Using Gen3D’s software, we guide you through the AM design process in easy steps, which is an ideal hands-on method of practising what you’re learning. Interactive tutorials are available via Windows devices.
Boost your knowledge, earn a certificate

Whether you are new to AM or looking to boost your existing knowledge, this design for additive manufacturing course is ideal for all individuals with a technical background and a basic knowledge of design and manufacturing. A completion certificate allows you to showcase your work.
Delivered by an experienced team.
The team at Gen3D are industrial and academic experts with many years of research in additive manufacturing (3D printing). We distil this broad range of knowledge into a focused online design for additive manufacturing course covering what we have found to be most important in the field of design for additive manufacturing.
Dr Steven Goguelin - Instructor
Steve has a masters in mechanical engineering, specialising in design. His PhD in design for additive manufacturing focused on the role of computers in the AM workflow. He now helps users fully exploit AM with his design and applications role at Gen3D.
Dr Wesley Essink - CTO
Wesley is the CTO of Gen3D. With a PhD focused on using AI to optimise manufacturing processes and a masters in mechanical and electrical engineering, Wesley now develops Gen3D's design software including the interactive tutorials for this course.
Dr Vimal Dhokia - Advisor
Vimal is an expert in advanced manufacturing and design for AM with research spanning across aerospace through to healthcare. His current position as Reader at the University of Bath helps bridge the gap between academia and industry.
Dr Joseph Flynn - Advisor
Joe is an expert in applying geometry to create useful and interesting shapes. His PhD was in precision engineering but now focuses exclusively on AM. His work helped create algorithms that automatically design fluid flow channels and lattice structures.

Testimonials.
Really enjoyed the course! It provided a great reminder of the unique designs made possible through AM technologies, and it is clear to see much thought has gone into the functionality of the Gen3D software to easily incorporate these unique features into the part design.
Jon McAlinden
Design Engineer, GKN Aerospace
Excellent job running through almost every aspect of AM, backed by easy to understand course material, real-world examples and tutorials. I would highly recommend to all audiences interested in AM, even as a refresher to supplement DfAM principles which are already known but often forgotten.
Abdul Haque
Technical Lead - Metal AM, AMRC
